Blemil plus Preterm is a highly digestible milk formula with a high nutritional value, especially developed to meet the increased requirements of premature and low birth weight babies, and adapted to their degree of maturation to achieve optimal tolerance and nutritional gain.
Furthermore, it is enriched with nutrients considered essential for premature or low-weight infants, such as LC-PUFAs ω-3 and ω-6 (DHA and AA), nucleotides and zinc, which contribute to the growth and development of the infant’s digestive and immune systems.
Blemil plus Preterm contains:
- Caloric density higher than that of infant and follow-on formulas (81 kcal/100 ml).
- Proteins: it has a high concentration of proteins and a balanced ratio of serum/casein proteins (65/35), adapted to the degree of maturation of preterm infants.
- It also contains nucleotides, which are related to faster weight gain in premature and low-weight babies. These are also involved in the maturation of the gastrointestinal tract and immune response system.
- It is supplemented with taurine and L-carnitine, which are essential for metabolizing fatty acids and the resulting energy production, and of great importance in the development of the central nervous system and retina.
- Carbohydrates: it combines lactose and maltodextrin in similar amounts, reducing the osmolarity of the formula, ensuring good digestibility and absorption of the hydrocarbon fraction, an energy source for growth, bone development and brain function.
- Fats: It provides 17% of its lipid fraction in the form of Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs), easily digested and absorbed, and thus an immediate source of energy. It is supplemented with LC-PUFAs ω-3 and ω-6 (DHA and AA), which are necessary for the proper development of the central nervous system and the visual function, as well as the maturation of the infant's immune system.
- Vitamins and minerals: it contains vitamins and minerals that cover the daily needs of the infant, and it is especially rich in selenium and vitamin E, powerful antioxidants that prevent oxidation of LC-PUFAs, contributing to their optimal preservation and nutritional gain. Its zinc content aids in the maturation of the immune response system, as zinc deficiency affects growth.

Blemil plus Preterm is a milk formula recommended for low birth weight newborns, premature or not.
Breast milk is the best food for infants during the first months of life. When breastfeeding is not possible, health professionals must recommend the most appropriate alternative.
Dosage
Available only on prescription. The amount per serving and number of daily doses is prescribed based on the weight and energy needs of each individual infant.
Blemil plus Preterm is prepared in a mixture of 5.3 g to 30 ml of water.
